fix-it-flat in RFT?

If one hopes to salvage a punctured RFT, then I want to keep the pressure high, correct?

Are there any kinds of "fix-it-flat" goo that tire shops prefer because they are less messy or can be cleaned off? Or do most people carry a compressor?

What are the chances that a garden-variety nearby garage or tire shop will patch a punctured tire (i.e., is not concerned with liability).

Thanks,
Poiney
