Question Matte black grills to gloss black grills DIY?

Is it possible to spray a clear coat directly onto the matte black abs grills making them look like OEM bmw performance grills?

if so, do i need to prime it or sand it? should i just buy gloss black paint instead?
Im not sure if clear coated matte black is the same as gloss black...

We do this all the time, just bring them to a body shop to have them sprayed Jet Black.

1000 grit sand paper? wet sanding? wont sanding it discolor and scuff the abs plastic?
