NO BMW has EVER changed suspension fitment in mid-life. EVER. Not even the grand E46 M3. The CSL version of that car uses the same exactly spring and shock fitment so that ANYTHING that fits the regular, mundane piece of crap non-CSL M3 fits the CSL as well.
I mean, would BMW REALLY be that stupid as to change actual tooling and scrap million dollars of parts to make sure that something no consumer will ever see has to be changed out completely from one year to another of the same model? And if that wasn't convincing, did YOU notice a part/fitment change for the E90 LCI that happened 2 years ago? I didn't think so. |

umm well they have with this one...they use new sachs dampers at all corners, etc...
http://www.insideline.com/bmw/3-seri...rst-drive.html "Ride, Sally, Ride One more subtle change to be seen first in this 2011 BMW 335i is the use of Sachs dampers at all corners. The objective is a more linear cycle of compression and rebound across the low-speed bumps in town, as well as over the high-speed bumps of the highway. The system of coil spring and piston within the dampers has given way to a stack of thin washerlike discs that produce more progressive fluid flow and less vibration over everyday pavement imperfections. (GM has used this technology in the U.S. for years.) We can attest that we felt the difference and also that none of the goodness on the sporty side of the equation has been lost." |

THE FITMENT IS STILL THE SAME. How hard is that to figure out? BMW changes spring and shock suppliers occasionally. BUT NO BMW IN RECENT HISTORY (and by recent I mean the last 30+ years) HAS EVER HAD THE SUSPENSION FITMENT CHANGED IN THE MIDDLE OF A MODEL RUN.
Ever. Not the M3. Not the E46 ZHP. Not the E90 LCI. Even when there are whole-sale changes in parts there were no actual fitment changes. For BMW to scrap MILLIONS of dollars in parts on the shelf? Common sense says NO. Especially when all the automotive manufacturers, including BMW, is trying to find creative ways to stay afloat through this turbulent economy. |

So what if they changed the manufacturer. Ride quality could be slightly different, but I doubt in the wrong direction. |
