Had to dive into the Bentley manual today and I noticed they say there's a "rear 12v utility socket" behind the trim on the left side of the trunk. I took out a couple of the clips and pulled the trim away but couldn't see it.

I was too lazy to remove the rest of the trunk trim, so thought I'd ask if anyone has seen/ used this socket. Would be a great location if it's 12v and switched to power meth kits.

For those with the Bentley manual it's on pg ECL-43, Fig 44.

Another question: What circuit and fuse does it run off of? I still like the idea of using an unused circuit. If this one is on it's own circuit then great. If it uses the same cig lighter circuit then I would avoid it.

It's optional. I only have it because I ordered an additional options package for the trunk. Don't know if that also applies to US spec cars, but I would assume so.

You can create a new fused circuit by controlling a relay from the switched trunk source and connect the meth stuff via the realy directly to the battery. The new fuse shall be located as close to the battery as possible.

Running meth controllers and fail safes directly from the car battery 12v source is the ideal power setup and doing it via a switched 12v source that controls a relay is the way to go.
