TCU question?

Under the armrest i have a module looking thing that says TCU. I'm guessing but does it mean telephone control unit?

From a bit of looking it seems that TCU is some kind of voice control / Bluetooth module?

Assuming this is correct, my question is... what is the gold connection point for on the TCU unit?

And what is the toggle switch next to it for, where it says 0 and 1 depending on the position of the switch. I would assume it's an on / off switch for whatever the gold connection point is for.

Thanks,

Sounds like the cradle for a mobile phone; the connection is maybe to the external antenna (the shark fin) for better signal.

yeah its the cradle for the mobile phone prep. the connections should be for the extended antenna and also charges up the phone thats plugged in.

the 0 and 1 is the setting for letting air into the armrest or keeping it consealed. cant remember which is which though

Ah right cheers guys

Phone cradles a bit oldskool in a world of bluetooth phones.

Good for signal and charging I guess.

Nice aircon feature too

You connect to the BT module in the car.
So you still use the antenna and signal amp in the boot right?
A hard wire is not necessary.

The 0 - 1 switch is the redbull can cooler, if you have it at 1 it will keep your can cold but the rear temp selector must be turned to blue...otherwise it will be like soup!

Thanks,
LOL - the 0-1 switch is for the can chiller!!!

As long as you have the aircon ON then putting the switch on 1 will blow cold air through the can holder - works great.

The gold connection pins are where you can plug in a phone specific cradle to put your phone in.

Have you got the USB and/or audio jack sockets under the armrest too?
