These mofos at the stealership are trying to get me to buy 3 year wheel and tire coverage for $545. I have to decide tomorrow, and you're making me want to do it. Basically, one 18" wheel or two 18" tires and it's paid for itself.

Way cheaper to self insure.

Insurance companies make money, and those things are never a good deal, unless you can't afford to self-insure. (basically just have enough money around to buy a new tire)

My dealership wanted $600 also, and $1000 for the full-body teflon coating. The finance person was upset when I started laughing.

ive gotten the warning recently, and i checked my pressures. one of the tires was low 3-4 psi. does that mean i have a flat or was it just cuz of the low pressure.

i've added more air to all the tires so that they are all equal in PSI and i reset the ftm system. no warning for about 4 days now. do i have a leak or was it just the unequal inflation?? thanks

RTF is not that bad IMHO no spare to worry just drive to the dealer and have them replace the tire.

Insurance was described to me as such: You are gambling that you're going to need it and the insurance company is gambling that you're not.

If insurance costs me $550 and I don't need it I've wasted the money. If I need it and the total claims in the life of the policy is $550 I've come out even. Only when the total claims is more than the cost of the premium does the insurance company lose. I self insure small costs like this. I set aside an estimated amount of money to cover estimated costs based on past experience. I'm willing to risk having to pay for $750 worth of tires than pay $550 for the insurance. Grant you, not everyone has the means to do this. Not everyone is willing to take that risk.

I wish my dealership had offered me that because I had to get a tire replaced and it cost me $400 to do it.

Its a great item to have. 2 tires are like 800 at least and i spent 550 on the plan. Plus the fact that it covers any wheel and tire up to and including 3 inches larger. I will do it on any car i have from now on.
