Question What are the best 19" wheels for my 335?

What are the best 19" wheels?

I want the Star Spoke (Style 199 or 230), but they are so much $$$. (Considering the value of my 162s)

What are the best if money is no option?

What are the best value?

I really want some 19s.

Regards,
Michael

Why do you want 19s? If it's for looks then I would consider the reps. Performance is a much more difficult case. I would be surprised if a 335 w/19s was faster around the 'ring than the same car with 18s.

The best? It all depends on what you like, there is no singular best! There is a thread in the Pics forum where people post pics of e90's and e92's with various aftermarket wheels...find the style you like and choose! Just make sure it fits and is forged if light weight is a concern.

You can never go wrong with BBS if you find a style you like in their catalog.

I like Dinan's 19" wheel. Very light (<20 lb) and very wide, allowing you to fit 265 front and 275 rear.

yeah dinan's wheels are really good for performance. i also want style (dinan's have style). both are important.

for the price of the dinan's, i think i want to do the Star Spoke 230s b/c they look classier despite being a bit heavier. i drive on the streets, not the track and i figure the tangible difference will be low.

The "best" wheels is really a subjective question.

In terms of getting a unique look for your money, nothing will compare to an aftermarket set. OEM wheels are quite expensive for what you get which is why I recommend you go with a third party set such as BBS, replica CSL, M5 or M6 wheels, DPE etc...

Let us know if you need any help picking out a set for your car.

Thanks for the tip Nick. I have no idea what set to get. I don't want chrome though!

I want some 19" wheels that look classy. I dont want the "i am 16 and tuned my own car" look.

iforged, hre, bbs are all great brands that are classy yet aggressive...

i think most of them have a chrome lip... bbs has a few without chrome...

the style 230 OEM are made by BBS. there is a BBS stamp on it at the back of the wheel.
they are cast, and certainly >20 pounds, but im still pleased they are BBS

I think that CSL wheels or M6 wheels on a lowered E90 looks super hot. I remember seeing pictures of one somewhere on here and I fell in love with it. Let me know if you want a set, we may have a few sets left over before the next shipment comes in, which is next month or two.

But if you have the money and want to go all out, by all means go with real BBS LMs In which case, I can get you those too. I personally have a set of these on my car and love them.

Remember, as far as wheel pricing/knowledge/etc goes, I am the guy to go to or ask.

So just let me know whatever questions or help you may need.

Feel free to PM me or e-mail me.

My choice came down to BBS Ch, RS-GT, and LM. I have owned BBS wheels in the past and feel comfortable with their quality. The Ch look great and are the best value. The RS-GTs have a lip and should look good well into the future, as well as being the lightest. The LMs are classic but also the most expensive.

BBS is an aftermarket standard you cannot go wrong with. Their wheels are light, classy looking, and often imitated.

If you like the look of the E90 Style 162 wheels, you can go plus 1 with the more aggressive offsets of the Morr Replica 19" wheels that fit the E92 perfectly.

Dinan wheels are expensive, but very lightweight if you like the spoked design.

CSL replicas are also lightweight, affordable, and attractive if you like the concave look.

Decide if you prefer wheels with lips or wheels that are concave. Decide between spoked pattern or mesh pattern.

Different companies offer different wheel offsets. If you don't like to use spacers, see if the wheels you are interested in are offered with the ideal offsets you seek.

Check out the aftermarket wheels thread and choose a design.

if you want classy, go with HRE. Nothing is classier

www.hrewheels.com

DPE also is making awesome wheels with the introduction of the signature series

www.dpe-wheels.com

Like all the other are saying, you can never go wrong with BBS either. That holds true with dpe and hre also.

use the search tool and look through the photo gallery of dpe hre and bbs wheels members have on thier cars. you can get a good idea of what it will look like, and perhaps maybe a nice member could photoshop rims you choose on a picture of your car

take your time, you want to make a good choice, don't rush it.

I have come to the conclusion that because the car is full of curves and it really doesn't have a single straight line, curvy spoke wheels compliment the car a lot more than straight spoke or mesh.

So in my humble and very subjective opionion, car looks so much better with 230s on than any other type of wheels. And I'd put 19 inch 162s or M6 replicas as a second choice.
