Disagree. Heated seats work much better in my car than our IS250. The A/c blows just as cold. It's annoying that I can't just change the fan speed via button, I have to switch the menu on the touchscreen to climate first.
Do you own a Lexus?

not sure on the is but from equally compared things like 7 to ls its a joke even my acura rdx a/c > both the 3 series i had. i read somewhere bmw is redesigning the system along with control setup so hopefully we will see drastic change...

I still think American cars have the strongest AC systems. Might be in my head, but I've always felt this was one strong point of American cars.
That said, the BMW cooling does just fine for me. No complaints, and BMW heated seats are definitely among the best.

The heat is fine. I just hope the AC is better. My wife's IS250 is way colder than my e90. Ventilated seats would also be a plus.

I can't comment on Lexus, Acura or Infiniti, but my A/C and heat work great in my E90. In fact, it works better than any previous car I've owned, which have all been GM products. On a 90 degree day, with a black interior, it starts cooling down pretty quick.

The A/C in my 01 e46 is way better than my E90.

My AC is fine.. and i came from a Infiniti g37. What i want to know is after time my g37 AC started to smell moldy.. i hope the BMW AC system is better than that.

The AC in the BMW is okay. I'm used to it and I'm fine with it. However, I must agree that the japanese AC systems do get colder and are quicker than the german ones.

And for a contrary experience, the A/C on my '07 328iT cools the car down faster than did the system on my '99 E46 sedan. While I'd prefer a "manual" CC system, I can't fault the effectiveness of the E91.

my dad's '99 Dodge Intrepid freezes like it runs on liquid nitrogen. american cars have extreme A/C on lock down. in fact, i think he keeps that old beater in the stable just to cool off in the VA summer

1. In general, American cars have the best A/C
2. my e92 cools just fine 3. BMW heated seats are by far the best 4. rx-8's don't have AC at all unless you're over 2500 rpm

what i never understood was, why is the climate control all digital, yet you still have to turn that analog knob on the top of the dash to red or blue? and on top of that, if your rear vents are turned to blue, and the dash is set on red, youll get two different temps blowing out. what a joke.
