I think it works perfectly. However, if you are older than 25 you need to find some different shoes IMO.

Yeah you are definitely pushing it. Not saying you need wing tips by any means, but I would recommend a more.. *cough* conservative *cough* toe profile.

The second picture (new since your first post) doesn't look as bad as I originally thought, but I still feel strongly about the toe length...

I agree with Feyd. The colors work, I don't particularly like the shape of the shoe however.

They look okay to me. But after reading the comments the "penis mobile" from Family Guy came to mind.

I like them. Gray pants really only call for black, though. They are not olive or light-hued.

agreed. i would put gray pants with black shoes too but judging from your pic it looks good! not really a big fan of the shoe itself though it the flat toed shoes dont really look good with laces on them, at least the ones ive seen so far dont impress me much. which is why i rock the flat-toe dress shoes kinda like these: http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/men/shoe...0931-henard/97

I disagree that gray pants only call for black shoes. A black suit calls for black shoes. Either color can work with gray slacks IMO. The shade of gray and of brown should work well together though.

BTW, this cut of shoe would be more appropriate IMO. It's a Church's Consul and retails for about $530.00 USD. I'm not saying you should purchase a pair for that price, although Church's makes some of the finest quality shoes in the world. I'm posting it as a model of what a more "classic" cut should look like. I think this is what Feyd was referring to with his age remark.

IMHO, the colors work, but not as well as a lighter/redder brown like cordovan or black would. I would also prefer to see a more conservative toe. I like the Church's posted, but here is a more modern yet still conservative style from Edmond Allens for $285 called the Presidio. I have a pair and they are the most comfortable dress shoes I own.

I think it looks great and I quite like the shape of the shoe. I work for an uber-conservative institutional money manager and wear square toed shoes to work every day.

Same exact shoes I wear pretty much every day. Great taste!

I completely agree. It does depend on the person though - my dad is one of the old schoolers who think gray and brown are a no-no.

Then again, I think he still wears pleated pants.

True. It looks good in that picture. In general, no.

Not sure if you checked it out when it was there, but the OP removed the first photo.

In that perspective the pictures looked a bit more like this.

In that "more overhead perspective" The actual end of the toe is considerably narrower than the widest part of the foot bed. In the photo that remains the perspective is a bit lower thus obscuring said difference.

In my opinion a it takes a lighter brown to match with gray. Darker browns are harder to match.

Black or cordovan shoes - don't care for square toed shoes in a dress setting (or at all for that matter).
