M6 rep. wheels. sizing question
Ok, I decided I like the m6 replica wheels, but I'm a dummy and dont know the differences on "offset". Do I want 19 x 8.5 or 19x9.5 for a 06 325i with sport package? Also, whats the difference on ET-20, ET-25, ET-35 and 38?

Yep exactly, offset refers to the distance between the centerline of the wheel and the hub.
There are a variety of options in terms of fitment and application for your car. I recommend you go with the staggered setup if you want a wider rear stance and a bit more traction. If you wish to rotate your tires and get a bit more mileage out of them, then go with the 8.5 all around. Offset is determined by the distance of the spider (place where the lugs goes on the wheel) to the very back of the wheel. The lower the offset the further out it will stick out and vice versa, the higher the offset the more the wheel will sit into the wheel well.
I would go staggered on these cars as they can accomadate them quite nicely without any problems. Not only do you gain some positive aspects such as being able to put more rubber on the wheel, but you also get the aesthetic benefits of going with a wider wheel. If you have any questions on sizing/tires/wheels or anything let me know. I've gone through so many tire and wheel set ups on my car that I know almost everything about them now, what fits, and what doesn't, what looks good, etc. -Don Don************.com |
