Audible beep when locking your E90?

I have a 330I, however I don't have the option to have the audible beep when I lock the vehicle. The dealer stated that I don't get that option because I didn't purchase the alarm, however the mechanic told me that it's a simple software update, and I will have the option.
Can anyone tell me who should I believe?

Does anyone know if the vehicle is already equipt with the audible device? Or if it is included with the alarm?

If the siren is already in the car, it can be tapped to a lock/unlock trigger. On my previous vehicle, the horn would trigger for every lock/unlock command and I simple changed the audible warning to an alarm piezo siren. The vehicle's horn remained.

search on it, I did and found out that you must have the alarm to do it. Its a shame because its falsly decribed in the manual as a standard feature. Shame shame BMW

I hassled my CA asking why I couldn't turn on the audible beep as a pre-delivery programmable option..after many conversations to and from, it was concluded that you must have the factory alarm installed to make use of the beep. Pretty damn silly in my opinion, but I guess the blinking lights will have to do.

Almost every other car has an audible tone confirmation...blah.

None of the 3 series came with alarm this is an option item there for you won't get an audible beep.
