How to remove bulb socket from e90 side marker?

I need to remove the socket to swap out the side markers. How do I remove the socket (white part). I tried prying up the white tab but it doesn't want to twist or pull straight out. I don't want to crack it. thanks

Use a flat head to wedge out the safety clip and twist open. If you crack it then it's no biggle. Happens all the time
