Tischer Bmw getbmwparts.com Raped me in Shipping Charges

So I ordered some Lci Halogens from them which the price was not bad. However under their shipping policies which I copy and pasted...

"we only charge what the shipping carrier charges to ship your order. This keeps our prices as low as possible."

I was charged 60 dollars for ground service on a 25 lb package from east to west coast. I own a small business and when I checked my worldship which gives me list rates not including my discount incentive it was only 29 dollars with delivery Signature required and insurance. I emailed them to ask them about it and no response on the matter. now I understand handling charges and supplies but there is no way you can upcharge 30+ dollars on shipping.

Tischer was right I was wrong...Price was legit box was huge

we run into that at work all the time, measure the box, and put it into your ups worldship dimension section and see if it adds cost to the shipping

Too bad there isn't free shipping. I've never seen it from any BMW dealerships, but always with Nissan. Over 13 years that has always been a help in keeping maintenance costs lower, no tax, free shipping, 25-30% off list on OEM. There's no reason why BMW OEM couldn't be sold like that, except demand v. supply. My wife's uncle sometimes gets OEM BMW for over 50% off list, but it depends on the part and he's a shop with an acct.

It will be hard to gauge dimensions since the shipment has not arrived yet but will guarantee that I am being overcharged. Once I get in the office I will over estimate box dims and let you guys kno.

Let us know if you get a response--perhaps they'll say it's not just shipping, but packaging material, blah blah blah....

if you plug an 18X18X24" box into the UPS shipping calc from MD to cali, you get a dimensional weight of 41lbs and a shipping cost of 58 bucks, inc declared value of 600

i have a feeling that the box for a set of headlights is larger than that and probably has a higher DV

You still saved a ton in ordering from them. Evan and Jason have no reason to rip you off on shipping and have proven time and time again that they are 2 of the best dudes on these forums. If they had to charge you $60 for your order then there was a reason for it.

Jason is pretty good at getting things sorted out. I had quite the problem with them (not cost related) and it was with their "shipping department" specifically.

When did you contact them? Did you even give them a chance to respond? Have you read the numerous threads about Tischer and how everything you said is contrary to their business practices? Did you do enough research before bitching about it, like what's already been mentioned here about dimensions? Your small business isn't the same as shipping car parts, and there are variables that you can't account for.

At this point, while understandably frustrated, you don't have all the information, and you're preaching to the wrong choir.

Thanks smart guy. I have contacted them since monday. So no response leads me to this situation where Im at. And small business yes but we ship an avg of 4000 shipments a yr including multiple shipments to accounts with dims at 24x18x16. I appreciate feedback and people trying to explain to me reasons why the shipment would cost that much. I will retract my statement if I am incorrect.

Yeah, as above, hold your horses until you get the package and price the actual weight and dimensions.

Making a public spectacle of people who are well respected, and have *always* taken care of people doesn't reflect poorly on them, it reflects poorly on you. That was my point. A knee jerk reaction without all the information available to you is poor judgment on your part.

And your 4000 parcels a year doesn't compare to what is likely 4000 parcels a month from them. You still don't have a point of reference.

Calm down, and wait for an answer, instead of reacting poorly is all I'm saying.

chill out dude. to ship headlights, the box needs to be huge. i'm shipping mine from LA to Miama for the OSS Designs setup and they need a 24x24x24 box. i can be cheap and buy a smaller box to save shipping but why would i wanna do that and risk damaging the headlights? you still payed way less than going to a dealership.

I am not getting in the middle of this, I'm just going to make 1 statement, and leave.

Ron1n- Agree to disagree. I have read so many good things about Tischer that I decided to order, and my experience was sub par. I don't chose to write about it on the forum because it is not worth it and I don't expect Tischer to do anything because there is nothing that can be done.

Fact is, no matter who the vendor is, myself included, mistakes happen, bad experiences are encountered, and thats just how it is.
