Winter Offer
I had to take my 330 in to get the iDrive fixed today and while in the showroom the displayed 320d had a placard on it as shown in this photograph (don't know if it will be readable). It is an offer for blacklines, installed for £150. Does anyone think this is a good deal (for the UK)? While the placard states it's normally £223.75, the accessories catalog has them for £165. Don't know if this includes VAT (pity if it didn't).
For the U.S. readers, the current rate of exchange at my bank broke the $2/£1 barrier Friday so this price translates to $300 installed. The write-up is interesting to read with the construction information that it is "harmonious": Personalise Your New 3 SeriesMaybe I should just wait until next summer and get them in the states.

Thats a good deal. Lights on the own are £165 inc vat, so lights and labour for £150 is very good.

Its a good price for the UK as already said but from what I've seen they are cheaper in the US.

Should I get the blacklines I'd have the Euro taillights available as well as the original U.S. reds. Don't know if anyone would be interested in buying the reds unless they have a damaged one and need a replacement.

I still have the ones I bought from Chris in the box - haven't got round to fitting them yet.
I'm a bit off the car cause I have a dent in the door (my fault) and a stone chip on the windscreen (not my fault). Haven't washed it for weeks because of the winter conditions and the fact that the door is smashed in. |

I have to take my car back in a few days apparently for a software update and I'm leaning very heavily on taking this blacklines offer. Just did the math and it looks rather favorable, er, favourable.

I also have the stone chip in windscreen - no dents in doors yet but I do have a badly kerbed near side front wheel (white van mans fault - had to take evasive action!). I know what you mean about outting you off - I deliberately park so I can't see it!

Interesting that Victoria Harrogate have this offer (my last BMW came from them and I nearly bough a used M3 from them before deciding on a new 335) - gonna try to get Castle in York to match - My new 335 is on order from Castle but won't be here this side of Dec 31st - do you think these will look good on a silver M sport? Cheers

What was up with the i-drive by the way ? Mines had a few mental moments, but always sorts itself out. The most interesting ones so far are: 1. The street names in the assistance window (arrow view) turned to odd ASCI symbols, but dissapeared when I re-calculated my route. 2. All of the park distance control lights lit up at once (include the front - which I don't have installed !) Black-lines do look nice though - just need to get em fitted. On that basis the dealer option looks good - since they will at least be on the car - not in the box like mine. |

Castle York and Victoria Harrogate are not currently part of the same group but sometimes accomodate each others clients for mutual benefit.
Mark - thanks for the pic - look good on your car. I will get these sorted when the car comes in and is waiting for PDI/ reg number etc Now - what about a rear spoiler - yes or no? good taste or bad? I know its just aestetics (no practicle reason) but I thought the m sport would have just a little spoiler (e46 style). Does adding as a dealer fit accessory mark you out as a potential Chav!! Decisions decisions Cheers
