Argh, cant get into "Set" menu for custom functions

I am usually not so clueless, but I cant get into the settings where I can adjust the flashing blinks for the turn signal, the settings for lock behaviro...bascially this screen in the manual.

Ive tried it witht he key in and ignition on and off, and I can only get the set option for changing the values or measurement (F or C, miles or km, etc)

is your car a pre-sept. build? you may need a software fix.

Are you moving the turn signal stalk or the little switch on the stalk? the first time I tried I did not move the actual switch. I was moving the signal and getting kind of frustrated.

Dealer will know that you need an update, but remind him that you have a pre-Sept build.

Do you have CA?

I can change settings only with the spare key and emergency holder from the glovebox. (CA fob behaves as you describe).

Cars built prior to Sept 2005 can get some features that were missing upon delivery but they are not changeable by the driver. So he might be able to have the dealer set his locks or whatever, but that can only then be changed by the dealer.

the software fix does not give u all the menus that are available in the current cars (e.g. programming locks, DRL etc.). my car is pre-sept build and i don't have those menus. only the dealer can change the settings for DRLs, locks..
