Might trade-in my 330i for 550i tomorrow
So, I was at the dealership today and they have a special lease rate for a 550i loaded and with manual transmission.
I got my car for $45,000. Trade-in value for my 330i is $36,500 after only 3 months of ownership. The lease offer is very very good and the 550i's performance and looks is awesome. I really like the 5 series. What should I do?

Financially stupid to sell a car you just bought. But mentally sound if you like the 550i. Hell, some people swap quarter million dollar sports cars every other month.

you should see it this way: is the lease offer on the 550i THAT good you are willing to sucrifice the loss on your car???
but you have to give extra credit to the 550i, its an amaaaazing car, i would get it if i were you

You also might want to consider the 335i sedan. It's faster, more tunable, and you only lose 1.4 inches of rear legroom, 1.8 inches of shoulder room, standard nav, and power tilt/telescoping wheel/larger trunk. But you save at least 20k. I was - close to a 550i when I found out about the 335i. 335i=beast and cheap tune. But if your entertaining clients alot it would be worth it to go 550i. If they introduce a 535, what's going to happen to the 550i?

If you really want a 550i, then go for it. But of course, you should have just gotten the 550i in the first place and saved yourself thousands of dollars. Live and learn.

i dunno guys...i mean this is called an "upgrade" why are you guys stopping him from upgrading into a better car? yes the 335 might be faster than a 550 but you don't just buy a car for speed do you? you have to look at the overall quality of the car. the 5 series is a lot more comfortable inside than the 3 and also passengers in the rear will be better off.

550i is nice, but do you know there is going to be a small facelift for the E60 5 series March 2007?
(And the E90 will be facelifted autumn 2007.) |

Don't know about you guys, but I love the 3 series and the 7 series. I'm not
a really big fan of the 5 series for some reason, except for the M5 with the full merino leather opt.... but overall I honestly could say that the 3 series looks better inside and out than the 5.... Just my opinion and with that 550i, your insurance will probably go up as well..
