That's an interesting discrepancy when comparing YTD totals vs November sales. Makes me wonder if the E92 introduction had something to do with the November sales figures. It is equally interesting to note that the absolute number of cars sold in November were 10,114 for the 3-series, and 3,599 for the IS 250/350. Of course this could be explained off by the diversification of 3-series models including the E46, E90, E91, E92.

Well, I thought they "officially" weren't selling any more M3s at this point, until the new one is introduced.

The demise of the E46 may explain the poor annual performance in 2005 while consumers welcome the new models during this current year (beginning in Q3 & Q4 2005).
The introduction of the E90 & E92 can explain the positive sales figures around November 2005.

3,599 Lexus IS? what was their projections before the car came out? curious is this current number is in line w/ their anticipation/hopes for the IS.

M3s stopped production last summer. So the only ones that would be in these sale figures are the few still on dealer's lots. This is not very many.

An average of 3400 cars a month, and they are well ahead of their target.

FDMeloan:

Autoblog is reporting that BMW –4.5% at 22,602 (11/05: 23,673)

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/02/b...november-2006/

And:

BMW Group –3.6% at 25,889 (11/05: 26,844)

That BMW Group sales have been down for almost the entire year.

Has the 3-series been the exception?
