Can't get my hand down my crack.

Ok you pervs, chill.

I am constantly dropping stuff in the crack between the drivers seat and the parking brake.

Change, lighters, bldg access card, etc will just find it's way between this space and trying to get stuff out is almost impossible.

You've got to have the anorexic hand of Mary-Kate Olsen to fish stuff out.

Am I the only one with this problem? Cause I ain't picking up an eating disorder just to get my fatty, over-sized knuckles and palms to retrieve the $156,476 in change that's in that crack.

I'm this close to checking out the DIY to remove the driver's seat...

Apologies to those suffering eating disorders.

LOL. I saw that too. I could not figure out what possibly could come next besides "pants", and if so how that could possibly be on topic. I clicked the thread just to get the answer to the riddle.

While I'm not sure that I want to respond to your initial forum title, I too have experienced the crack-issue. I dropped a small Mont Blanc pen down there and finally was able to free it after months of moving seat all way forward and back and trying all kinds of implements. Maybe BMW should offer some kind of German vehicle proctology services to help those of us in need.

When you do get that load of change out of there get a piece of cardstock as close to the same color as your interior that is near the length of the seat. Fold it in half and push it down between the console and the seat to form a V. Then anything that falls into that area will slide backwards into the footwell of the back seat. Things that don't roll can be prodded with a ruler.

Enjoy the windfall.

you don't want to REMOVE the seat, but you can unbolt it and tilt it up and out of the way while you retrieve your change. there's only 4 bolts... should be torx bolts. just be careful because the metal rails scratch the SHIT out of ANYTHING they touch... center consoles, b-pillars, steering wheels, etc.

just move your seat all the way forward to retrieve your change, then press the memory button to bring it back to its original position

you can also put your seat all the way up and pick things up from the bottom.

Buy one of those reaching grabber tools. It has a handle on one side with the thing you push to open the claw (four metal prongs). Don't know the proper title and can't find a pic... Maybe someone on here knows what I am talking about.

Another good solution is a girlfriend with small hands..

Tell you what, I'll fly down for free and help you remove all that change if I get half of the $156K
I just move my seal all the way forward and back and use a small flat ruler or something to push it all down to where I can get it from under the seat.
Anything else I can't pick up, my Dyson does really well

LOL.

Richard Gere bought all the gerbils in the LA area and the only rodents left here are guinea pigs, a ton of rats and TV executives...the latter of which will go down on anything...

It's always fun retrieving lost items from cracks in cars and sofas. It's like opening a time capsule.

You can always use a wooden yardstick with double-sided tape on the end.

I know what you mean. With 2 kids, the shit you'll find is simply amazing.
Thanks for the tip.

I know getting stuff out of the crack has solutions, it's just the space between the seat and the console is freakin' small...

Some of what fall in the crack can be accessed from behind/under the seat through the rear door access.
