Can't adjust front camber on 06 e90?

I took my car to get an alignment the day before yesterday. While they were able to adjust the toe problems that I've been having, they said that the camber in the front wheels can't be adjusted unless I install an after-market camber kit.

Why on earth would BMW make a car (06 325i) that you can't adjust the front camber on? It's a bit out of spec (don't remember exact numbers, but it was very close to being in spec, maybe out by .01 on each tire, but still out of the spec range) and there is nothing they can do to make sure that my car is within spec as it sits right now.

Anyone else ever run into this? Should I just ignore it or install the camber kit?

I think the solution is to drill out the alignment pin and turn the mount around so the chamber is corrected. Not sure though.

Change out control arm bushings, it ages/cracks/sags which is why the spec is barely out of place. If the camber is a lil off its ok long as the toe compensates closes to oem specs.

drilling the alignment pin out will get you a little more adjustment. maybe .5 degrees or so. If you want more, you will need camber plates. And fwiw, there are quite a few cars that don't come with camber adjustment from the factory.

That's exactly what's going on. The control arm bushings are leaking a bit, but not yet cracked. I have an appointment in a week to have BMW "look" at them. I'm still under the 4yr/50K warranty (though just barely with 48K miles and change) so they better cover them.

I just never thought this would affect my camber until they were completely worn.

I got a similar comment from my alignment shop... however he told me it was one bolt per side (about $30 each). He explained that this was the case with all German cars. Not sure why. It isn't a problem as I am still within alignment specs for now, but for $60 I might just go ahead and do it.
