Talking Hey guys Im new!

hello everyone.

im so excited to find this website. my father is buying me a 335i coupe this week. i am extremely pumped. currently i have an '04 X5 4.4i, but my mother does a lot of charity work and needs the cargo space. she couldnt care less about what she drives (she thought a focus hatchback would suffice, but my dad insisted on test driving the E55 AMG wagon... but she thought it was too 'peppy' for her tastes), so she opted to take the X5 instead of something new for herself, and let me have all the fun picking a new car for myself. my local bmw dealer just got a 6 speed space grey with a red interior and the sports package. the timing couldnt have been more perfect. i should have it by the end of the week. pictures to follow.

to all of you that have one already... this is a dumb question, but... how much do you love it??

congrats on the new car.

When I was 21... i was driving a fire-engine red '89 Toyota Tercel, grey/black two tone interior, black plastic trim... so hot! (the 'climate control' had three settings; red, white, and blue dial)

Very nice car to be driving at that age--hope you appreciate it. Personally, I think it might be hard to realize what kind of machine you have unless you have had the experience (or similar to) of driving an '86 Honda Civic that burned a quart of oil every time you went 20 miles. That's what I was driving at 21. Thank God no more--Congrats and welcome!!

your mom sounds like my kinda person. Why buy a brand new car when a existing car will do. How do you feel about volunteering and working for charity when you drive up in a brand new MB? Anyway, back to topic, congrat on the 335.

Why does everyone have to bring up the cars THEY were driving at the kids age. Who cares. Are you telling me that if you had the money you wouldn't put your kid in a nice, safe car? Granted it's a BMW but even a new Accord or Camry fully loaded is getting you into the low 30K range.

Congrats on the car! Where do you live in Ohio?

I think it's valid to say what we were driving at that age. It's just conversation -- "Damn, you're lucky! At your age, I was..." -- not haterade or anything IMO, just regular old socialization. And FWIW, at age 21, I was driving a Jetta and I still like VWs.

To the OP - you will love the car. I've had my 330i for 5 months now and nearly every day since then, I've tried to find a reason to drive for the fun of it. One day, I took off work and drove out to the mountains. After driving ALL DAY, I headed home... and then as I was nearly home, I intentionally went out of my way to take some extra back roads and drive some more. I've never felt this way about a car.

Probably not a BMW--even if I could afford it. Honda, yes--Bimmer, no. Just my opinion though.

Sweet, I wish parents would have bought me a BMW when I was a kid. Good on you, just don't wreck it like all the other kids.

also... not to be knitpicky or anything... im in my 3rd year of college.... so i know im 'youngish', but when you guys say kid... it makes me feel like i wont be taken as seriously... when i have been driving and appreciating bmws for almost 5 years. so lets crack a few cold ones and enjoy being adults and young adults alike (i added that last sentence so that i had an excuse to use the drunk smiley faces... im loving all these things haha)

Fuck, I work my ass off to barely afford a 325i, and this lucky guy gets a 335i just for kicks

Maybe if I didnt live a million dollar house I could have a 335 as well

Enjoy your car and have a great time here!!!
