Tinting window in Hong Kong

I was told that officially we are not supposed to tint our window/windshield.
anybody gets pull-over/ticket/troubles for tinting window too dark?

what is a "safe" % for tinting our BMW in hong kong?

this is the latest regulations in HK on windows tinting. however, it is still not allowed to do tinting by putting on films as they are considered illegal "add-ons"

too bad ignorance to the law isn't a defence, otherwise I would just say I don't know about it.

police are behaving very well now adays, i dunt like them before, say 5 - 6 years ago but now they are really helpful, so hopefully it will change the way you think

I dont like those fxxking traffic warden, they give you tickets once the meter is 5 mins over. damx

Tinting is expensive, a 3 series, 4 doors and 2 widow shields cost me 3,400 alrdy.

But its worth it esp under sun shine.

I did 50% (3M) all around (except windshield). Had been through roadblock around 10-15 times, never had any problem. I guess as long as your tint isn't darker than 50%, your car isn't modded in high profile, and you be polite to the cops, then they will not pick on you.

Umm, well, I live in Yau Yut Chuen, so whenever I go home late, there tends to be cops stopping me... perhaps to see if I am going for a prostitute..
