The ever-elusive DELETE MOONROOF option for the 2011 335is...

Has anyone successfully placed an order yet for the new 2011 335is with the DELETE MOONROOF option? My dealier is just having the time of his life trying to get this configured through BMWNA. It isn't listed as an option on the computer when he places the order for the car in BMW's system.
I am seeing numerous references to this all over the Internet as truly being an available option, but it can't seem to be done!
In the CNET video below, you can clearly see that the 335is that BMW showed off at the New York auto show recently didn't have a moonroof, and the reviewer specifically mentioned that you CAN order it WITHOUT the moonroof! UGH!

Apparently its a not on the list option, just talk to your sales rep about it.

I've been trying to work it with my rep for several months now to no avail. I thought maybe if anyone else has successfully gotten it ordered, I could relay the info to my dealer how as far as how it was done.

Less weight, lower center of gravity, less chances of long-term leak, more headroom inside the car (I'm tall).

Just looked on BMW's website and tried to configure one and didn't say anything about not being able to get one.

I just ordered a 335is tonight and I saw the option to delete the moon roof. Its right there in the computer under all the options and packages. Your CA must be blind. FWIW I am getting the moon roof because I like it and never would track a car.

Wow. Maybe they recently added the option. I'm going to ask them to look again now! Thanks!

I'll give you everyone of those points except the leak. I've never heard of one leaking but I'm not saying it never happened either. BTW I'm tall too 6'3 and find there to be more than enough head room in an E9x.

Well, I like to sport my //M cap when I'm driving, so the hat sometimes hits the ceiling of my wife's '08 335i. Not a huge deal, just an occasional annoyance. I'm only 6'2''.

Nice for wearing helmet. Rattle free. Less weight up high. Less flex.

Tough choice. I find myself using the sunroof to let hot air out etc. Nice luxury. Adds resale.

If they would give a $500 rebate I would go for the delete.

Awesome that BMW is letting us have so many build options now.

BMW indeed has now added this as a N/C option. My dealer was able to go update my order this morning to add the option. This problem has been SOLVED. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR POST!!!
