I don't have a key chain. It's in my pocket most of the time.

I do not use a key chain. Makes it larger than it already is.

I dont know what to do with mine. It doesnt seem like it belongs on a key chain but thats where you are suppose to put your car key. For some reason I feel like if it isnt on my key chain I will misplace either it or my house keys which are the only other keys on my key chain.

Why can BMW just make house door locks that match you car key.

I totally agree--but I am used to this, as my VW Jetta key was much the same--really hard to put anything else on it. Oh well--at least it is light and non-obtrusive in your pocket!

Funny...Because if they do, then people stealing cars will be able to steal just as easy from your house.

I don't use a traditional keychain. I have a keyring with my house key with the BMW keyfob attached at the other end. Basically, the BMW key fills the role of the traditional "keychain".

When my car is valet parked, it allows me to slide out the metal key from the BMW fob and my house key is already attached. This can all be done without removing the BMW keyfob from the slot (I don't have comfort access).

Wonder how big the actual transmitter part of the key is. It would be pretty cool to get it implanted so you don't need keys at all (I have CA).

There was a thread on this a while back, one idea was to come up with a small sleeve that your key fob would slip into, and it would clip to your belt or something like that. Sort of like a cell phone cover. I think it would work OK mounted horizontally on your belt, but with that and a cell phone I wouldn't want to start getting the "Batman utility belt" look.

I started carrying the key fob on its own, apart from my keychain. I admit I sometimes worry about forgetting it. I always grab my keys, but now I have to remember to grab the key fob as well.

It would be a bitch when you change cars, though. Besides, how are you going to recharge the battery, stick you finger in a light socket?

I heard that BMW is going to integrate the key fob in your underwear as a small integrated circuit. That way it will be extremely difficult for someone to steal your car.

i think BMW should make the key fobs as small as possible so those of us with comfort access can have them surgically implanted.. maybe this could be a new DIY.

That is a great idea. But having it surgically implanted will require surgical tools and a sterile room. A much better and cheaper approach for a new DIY is to have it anally inserted.
