Can't use my iDrive. HELP NEEDED.

Hi all,
I sent my car into the dealer about three weeks ago because my iDrive controller is not working. I got my car back two weeks ago and yesterday I was trying to use the navi and the controller quit working again, I mean the control knob is all lose I can just spin it over and over.. and the menu button is not working too. Basically the only way I can use to control the whole system is to use the voice command.
What is going wrong with the car?
When I had the car in dealer three weeks ago, they had replaced the driver side lock, the "iDrive jog dial", updated the software, replaced the voice command system (CCC) and also a leaking gasket for leaking oil...

I have the powerbox installed after I got the car back and also euro xenon headlights.

My car is a 2006 325i non-xenon.

Thank you guys for helping!!!

Raymond

Another example why too much technology is not a good thing.

Try resetting your iDrive. Hold the 2 eject buttons for the cd/dvd slots and the volume button until the cd/dvd drive eject their contents. Keep holding the 3 buttons until both the cd/dvd pop out. Hope you get this sorted out. GL.

I tried to reset it several times and also tried to restart the car. Now its partially working. I mean its like the iDrive knob is trying to grab hold to the system (if this makes any sense) its just works fine when I twist it nice and slow but if I twist a bit too fast then it just got lose again...

If I take it to the dealer should I take the powerbox off (again -.-)?? Does iDrive have anything to do with the ECU???

Thank you!

I would take out the pbx just to be on the safe side. Although the ecu doesn't have anything to do with the idrive, besides reading engine data, it is still part of the electrical system and your dealer could possible void your (electrical) warranty for it.
