Easiest way to reduce weight?

What are the simplest and cheapest weight reducing mods that are available to the 335i coupe? I have heard of lightweight wheels and tires (non-run flat) but what are some others?

replace the(electrically adjustable) seats for Recaros or something like that. They weigh 2 elephants. The light alloy wheels are good to do too. But the E90 V8 racer(with M5 E39 block) from a friend of mine still is 'too heavy' like more than 1350kgs..It's difficult to loose weight on a E90 easilly.
A carbon hood/doors/roof/trunk are $$$$$$$$$$ way out of proportion imho....

Just go for a Lotus or TVR instead(look at my sig )

Move to a higher altitude. You're further from the center of the earth there so your weight diminishes. Mass stays the same.

Why on earth would you want to lose weight from this car? If you want to make it a race car send it over to Turner and have them strip it, gut it and make it ia race car. Otherwise leave it alone.

Seriously. There is no way to reduce a lot of weight and still maintain the integrity the 335i should have. Well there is, but your car will look like crap, and not what a 335i should look like, unless it is a fully dedicated track car.

The one thing most people do for weight reduction is to take out the spare tire and jack and keep an a can of tire sealant in the trunk. To me the extra 30-40 lb is worth a peace of mind even though I have a AAA card.

I have friends who do weight reduction by taking off the side panels of the car, along with the rear seats and trunk lining. Some even go as far as taking the a/c off. The one thing that gets on me is that after taking off the panels and lining, the car becomes A LOT louder and prone to noises on the roads.

And I've heard people saying that you will feel the different after going to lighter wheels. Honestly I feel my car performs the same after I went from stock wheels to Volks and now to Advans. 18x9.5 wheels that weigh about 18lb, compare to 23lb with stockies.

Start with unsprung weight. You will notice a huge difference when you swap out the wheels to let's say forged.

2nd switch to a lighter battery.

Then replacing hood, trung and roof. This can get very expensive but reducing weight higher up makes the car corner flatter.

I parked next to an integra the other day at the mall. I happened to look into the car and it was completely stripped. No door panels, seats, carpeting, -- everything possible was out. Can't imagine driving around like that except on the track.

Changing the wheels to lighter wheels - magnesium for example and changing the RFTs to non-RFT tires (plus a can of sealant) is the quickest way to reduce unsprung weight.

Everything else is a little more complicated, but the next type of mods could affect the hoods (trunck and engine) replaced with cf, seats with light-weight racing seats.

Don't put any fuel in the tank

more seriously as others suggest, if you want to feel any difference then the unsprung weight is probably about the best you can do.

Trying to get rid of sprung weight is either going to get expensive really quickly (CF body panels etc), or will just make you look like a prat (remove all the soundproofing, trim and unwanted seats).

Hm, maybe use "lighter" fluid to fill up the car.
Sorry, couldn´t resist....
Other than that I´d ask my female passengers to remove their clothes before getting in the car. With the bad mileage the car is getting that´s the least they can do to help, right?
