Mpg gauge in Canada...??

Hi people,
i just have a quick question...
I am driving a loaner bmw 323 2006 right now.
It is my first bmw and the dealer lent it to me until my car arrives end of January. A 335 coupe.
One thing i noticed and loved on the 06 323 is the mpg gauge under the rpm gauge... I think it looks very slick when the needle moves when your driving the car.
But i just noticed in pictures on this forum that the new 07's don't have that and now have an oil temparature gauge instead of the mpg gauge.
Now my question is. Is that only for American e90's / e92's or Canadians as well??
That would really suck...
I think it's one of the little but beautiful option that the bmw has.
Can anyone in Canada confirm whether it has changed for Canadian cars as well.
Can't seem to find any interior pics of Canadian 07's e90's or e92's.
And i truly can't remember what it was from my brief stay in the car I test drove.
Thankx.

You can change it with the PC button.
It shows litres/100km.

Mines 2 days new and its showing a whopping 15.3L/100KM :O:O

Thank you

BC button. Every newer Bimmer has it.
Its the button on the stick you use to signal left/right

You can also call up mpg on the audio system display. THough I never used it

Ok i see...
But it doesn't give the same effect at all.
I'm more into the look of the gauge and the fact that when you accelerate the needle moves back and forth along with the rpm needle and speedometer needle.
I just find they all flow seemlisly together...
So has it in fact been changed as well in Canadian models?
Thankx

The current fuel consumption guage (or energy monitor in BMW speak) is still available in most BMW's but its replaced in the 335i (323 and 328 still have it) by an Oil temp guage as this is important for the Turbos. The M cars also have a Oil Temp instead of the consumption guage.

Even in my 325 I would rather have a proper temperature gauge. It lets you know when the car is properly warmed up or if the thermostat is stuck open and running too cold.

Im pretty sure my 328 (US spec) has temp gauge and not fuel consumption.

Edit: I see now everyone posting here is Canadian...carry on.

My e92 328i does have oil temp, but no "consumption meter", but if you keep tapping the BC button on the turning signal stock, it will scroll to a digital consumption meter

I'd rather have the temp gauge even in my 328. I think it would be more useful than a fluctuating mpg gauge. I remember seeing in some of the gauge cluster pics it goes up to 50 mpg on it. Who seriously gets 50mpg in a gasoline-powered e90/e92??

Personally I'm more concerned that Canadian E90s dont have MPH on the speedometer cluster, just km/h. I have no idea what reasoning is behind that.

Seriously? How do you know how fast you're going in MPH then (aside from calculating in my head)?

Well...if I drive to the US I guess I'll have to write a couple of converted speed figures on a post-it note and stick it to my dash. It's really silly. Even more so that the US cars have both but we dont.
