Impressive power gains from chipping the E90

It's a bit early for companies to be selling remapped ECUs for the E90, but here's a glimpse of what sort of gains we can expect! I had to get the engine specs and gains from a 630i, but the engine in the Six is the same as the engine in the E90 330i:

http://www.upsolute.com/db/new/daten...arke=4&ID=1053

The engine goes from 258hp stock to 284hp! I thought that was pretty impressive just from a chip remap. Hopefully that means I could potentially get around 240hp from my E90 325i if I wanted to!

It's never too early to be thinking about squeezing some more horses from my E90 Thanks for the heads up on this... hopefully the intake/exhaust configuration on the E90 330 will be similar to the 630 so that the remapping of the ECU will achieve similar gains!

anytime you stop by the dealer your software could be replaced with factory stuff.

currently you have to mail the car's computer to the guys in canada to get it done too.....

Thats hot. Price is reasonable for the gains too. Nojoedoe: why would the dealer reset the software just for a simple service??

Some upgrades could be overwritten by the dealer, in the form of a software update...

My supplier in Germany, offers free updates of software if this happens.

The 170hp version is the 320si model with the hand-built engine. If you don't know which version you have then you almost certainly have the 150hp version, which is simply badged 320i.

No worries on the info, as per the other note its a 320si the 170bhp... With regards to power, Diesel will gain more power from the chip due to the turbo thats on the engine, changing the map will increase certain areas and with a turbo on there as well makes even more of a difference... Petrol models you dont see a huge gain, but you would notice it.
