335 coupe test drive impressions
I apologize for dragging you guys into my drama about finding a new car, but I figured I would give my impressions...
First of all, the car: Space Gray/Coral red/6sp/sports/prem/hs 650 miles as of the test drive. Coupe versus sedan: While I obviously was not pushing the car to its limits by any means, the coupe seemed a little more loose than my E90. I really like the styling of the coupe. While I dont mind the color combo either, I will certailny be ordering a montego/saddle car... 335 versus 325: Yikes ... I like to end on a positive note, so the slight negatives first: - Light clutch travel. This thing is really light. Engagement point is a little lower than my 325, but about the same as a 330i manual I drove a while back. - Light shift throws. This was much easier than my E90 when I first had it. - I also didnt feel much resistance putting the car into reverse. With mine, you really have to push to get it over. This one... not so much... Positives: Power (duh). I didnt push it past 4.5k rpms and it still was not broken in. You felt the torque right off the bat, and even though I wasnt really into the HP band, you could feel the difference. I didnt feel that the 330i was much of a difference from the 325i, but there is a huge difference in driving experiences... - Brakes - While I didnt give a true brake test, I already felt them to be more responsive than my 325i... I didnt talk numbers with the SA... I bring my E90 in for some work Tuesday, and Im going to talk to my SA about numbers and delivery timeframe. If I get a good enough deal, Ill probably be looking 335 coupe |

Great to hear you enjoyed the test drive. If you can swing a 335i coupe, at least you will know you have no regrets afterwards. Good luck!

I've always though my 325 was plenty powerful but when I test drove the 335 coupe at our last meet I fell in love with it. not nearly in my budget right now though to get it configured how I want.
