Wheels and Coilovers
Hey Guys,
I have a quick question about a setup that I will be getting in a couple of weeks. I have my v710 rims measured at 18x 8.5 et 35 (all around) and have them installed with my stock shocks (with H&R springs) with no interference. I am going to be installing some Kw V1 in a couple of weeks and want to make sure I am prepared. I am not sure if my setup that I am going with will fit (i.e no interference). Does anyone know if my rims will rub against the kw shock strut? It would be nice to not have to use spacers (not a fan). If spacers are required, what brand would you go with that works well with Canadian weathers (and safe to put on the front wheels) and what size would be best for this setup. Thanks Last edited by DESI4life10; 04-17-2010 at 04:57 PM.. |

You will probably have to run spacers, I had to with my VMR VB3 19's upfront. You should not need anything more then a 5 mm spacer. Unless you want to flush it out with the fender run a 10-12 MM spacer.
FYI: My fronts are 19 x 8.5 ET 32 offset + 12MM spacer = ET20. Lowered on FK Silverline X's. I do not rub anywhere. Look for a cheap used set on here, or go to JRP, they have hubcentric 5 MM Sparco spacers for 35 bucks. Just make sure you put some anti-seize on the hub of the rotor and on the back of spacer and you should have worry free winter driving.

Does powder coat cost more than buying a new set of lug bolts? |

Thanks Kriston.
Yea I figured that I will have to buy a set of spacers for the front. Some said that they have put 3mm spacers and it worked. I guess with teh 3 mm you can still use the same lugs. Other than that, I really want to only put black lugs and not chrome. How are the spacers sold by eas schell? (sp?) ? Seems pretty good. |

I know most people say running stock bolts on 5mm spacers is ok, but I’ve always stuck with the 5-full turns rule when installing wheel bolts and you'll probably find that you'll get around 3.5 full turns out of the stock bolts when running 5mm spacers. Either way you should be ok, I guess I’m just the overly careful type.

No, im not running any wheel locks with my extended wheel bolts. My 335 rarely get parked anywhere in which i would have to worry about getting my wheels stolen.

Just out of curiosity, do they sell black wheel locks? A quick glance at their site only showed silver ones.
