Potential E90 warm-up problem?
Hey folks, I'm noticing that in even 8-10 degrees C temperatures, the car is taking almost 8-10 minutes to warm-up (I start the car, drive, and the temperature guage doesn't move for at least 8 minutes.)
Maybe this is a characteristic of a BMW with synthetic oil, but I never thought it would take that long....car has almost 24,800 kms on it. Anyone else experience this as well? Is this normal? or should I get it checked. thanks IGNORE. I SHOULD HAVE SEARCHED MORE ON E90 post. Last edited by BavFan_08; 04-13-2010 at 11:26 AM.. |

I have not had any problem on my car (328) but it seems that folks with 335 have cold start issues...

that's funny since the heating will start working maybe 1 or 2 minutes after the engine start up. It must be an electronic thing or maybe the temperature read is activated after the firts "Water Pump" cycle.

Normal on all BMWs. Just the way the inline-6 engine reacts to cold weather. |

Oil temp always slow to increase...which means we have to wait that much longer to get those turbo's fully fired up....
