not really...we tested a brand new one....and it was able to pull off lugs that we torqued up to about 180ft/lbs....i got lazy and didn't want to go any further...they are handy for track days.....

This may be a new version, but my neighbour bought one last summer and it was crap...he took it back. didn't put out anything near the advertised 240 ft-lbs. Maybe they're better...you could always get one and return it i it doesn't work, I suppose.

The neighbour probably got a bum one. I've had mine for about 10 yrs now and it hasn't failed me yet.
