my DIY matte black kidney grills
hey guys,
I didn't feel like shelling out the cash for aftermarket black kidney grills especially after I heard some of them didn't fit perfectly. I found a DIY in the DIY guides section (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=plasti-dip) and used Plasti-dip to turn my chrome grills to a matte black. It was easy as hell, looks great and best of all, only cost me $7. Another good thing is that if ever I get bored of it, I can simply peel the Plasti-dip right off and it'll be back to original. I've had it for a few weeks now and so far no scratches or anything.. it has held up well. Note: I bought a can of Plasti-dip while I was in the US and that's why it cost me only $7.00. The only place I know you can get it in Canada is at Caswell: http://www.caswellcanada.ca/shop/pla...ray-11oz..html They charge $9.00 a can but the shipping is expensive The upside is, they have a selection of colours. Here are some pics: |

They look nice, and have got me thinking about this as well.
Another place in Canada I just found was http://www.homehardware.ca/Products/...i_dip_blk_11oz Apparently HD has it too. It's a lot more expensive but it's local so it works out cheaper. |

i did some research on whether home hardware has them... i saw that they do list it but most stores dont actually have inventory. you're best off calling them to see if they have it before you go. |

thanks... and as for the plate, yeah, i was lucky cuz i bought the car from Ohio, where they dont require front plates so i bought the mini-go front license plate holder that doesnt require you to drill any holes
