I'm frustrated and upset

Someone rear ended my parked car. I can't stop thinking about it...I don't know if I should go to insurance. Help...

It's your choice, but there's a few things to consider. Damage out of pocket vs. your deductible. For me, it never makes sense to go through insurance if it's about the same as my deductible(in these situations of course). From the looks of it(and don't quote me on this), you'll need to repaint your bumper. My experience it will range from $600-$900, depending on the quality/shop you go to.

Damage is always an excuse to get mods =). Shitty that it happens, but it'll turn out for the better!

alternatively, you can buy my 335 rear bumper and go dual exhaust

since you will need to paint it anyways!

I have a shop that can have it repainted 100% match + offer you a 5 year paint warranty for less than $350.00. PM me and I can let you know.

If you enjoy working on your car, why not wait a bit:
a) someone else may hit you, and you catch them - make them pay ;-)
b) you may get more damage, and get it all fixed at once.
c) look at youtube for how-to DIY repairs - if your attempt sucks, you can still get it fixed by a pro

I wonder if this is the reason why police stops some people if they see damage on your car without the "Reported to Collision Center" sticker. In certain situations I can imagine if someone would want to rip off another person by claiming more damage than it was done in that certain instance.

that just sucks.. my co-worker is paranoid whenever he parks his car because someone might bump his car. well shit happens. BTW, i have been waiting for mtech rear for like close to year.. have not seen one in canada yet. Shipping if it is not local.

That looks like a hard hit I mean how fast were they going to park a car?
Seems like the person who hit your car was in a rush for something. What I would have done is look for any cars with silver paint on there bumper. Most likely they hit you and then parked not too far...I caught a guy once and made him pay other wise I call the PO PO! =o)

I don't know it was in STC. I guess driver thought I'm driving a BMW so I can afford it? I have one free pardon from my Insurance, not sure if I should use it.

Chipmaster quoted $385. I think that is a bit too much maybe I should take the vehicle to them instead of sending photo. I'm going to get quotes from other places too.

There shouldn't be any reason to rip anyone off. No matter how someone else hits him from behind, it's likely going to need a respray of the entire bumper.

just buy it from a dealership - you would be surprised at how much you can negotiate
