Filling with Shell V-power 91 from now on

Chevron and Petro 91 both says they can contain up to 10% ethanol. Just filled up at Shell and the car is faster according to my butt dyno.

i'm also using all shell. that 10% ethanol just scares the heck out of me. not only for the sake of the hpfp but for all other stuff.

I notice they now have Ultra 94 at the Petro Canada stations. Must be part of the Suncor merger with Petro Canada.

Almost exclusively Shell 91 here too. Occasionally put in a tank of cheap 91 at Costco even if is doesn't meet top tier gas standard (only Shell, PC, Sunoco and Chevron do in Canada).

seems pretty wack that so much companies are using ethanol even with the negative image from car enthusiast and the fact that to produce it is a net loser....

Meh, i still use shell, so no problem for me

ethanol is required by law in ontario:

http://www.ene.gov.on.ca/envision/ethanol/index.htm

Ontario Regulation 535/05 – Ethanol in Gasoline. The regulation calls for an annual average of five per cent ethanol in gasoline, beginning in January 2007.

This has been debated in other threads in the Canada forum. I posted the e-mail reply I got from Shell a while ago.

The ethanol contents of Shell gas are as follows:
Bronze - 10%
Silver - 5%
V-Power - 0%
(see original post too)

Average:
(10+5+0)/3 = 5% (this meets regulation)

Shell has reassured me that V-Power will remain 0% ethanol.
