Make sure you only get 2 sensors b/c that's all you need.

Just FYI, if you're a DIYer and keep want to save a buck and just gauge when you need new brake pads, you can just tie up the sensors and the car will read everything as normal.

Once the light is on, the sensor is done and has to be replaced to turn off the light.

I need to do this myself as the brake sensor light just came on.. Does anyone know what the part number for the sensors is?? I'm probably going to go with aftermarket hawk pads. Would there be an issue with these and replacing sensors?

Depends on your car i think, idk if newer 3 series have diff sensors, but check out www.Getbmwparts.com and pick your year make and model and you get the correct part. You can get OEM parts for cheaper on this site and great service!

Cool Carbon has some excellent pads as well if you want to PM me for more info on them. The coefficient for frictions is much higher than the OE pads in comparison, so you'll easily stop quicker

+1 i got my sensors from them, way cheaper then going to the dealership

i purchase aftermarket brake pads and the oem sensors worked fine, also, best thing about changing your brake pads to aftermarket is "no more brake dust"
