Take 4: Vishnu 335i: Tested the new Dealership ECU update on the dyno

Just dyno tested a 335i that recently had it's ECU updated by the dealership. Yes, the same infamous update that people have reported a power loss with. Any guess on how it did compared to the dyno results of my once stock car (with no ECU update). FWIW, my car put down 270-275whp and 280-285lbft of torque on the same very dyno.

Any guesses??

What's all this? First everyone was worried that the update would rob you of power. How you all are thinking that it may improve power? What a bunch of flip-floppers! lol

Fixed the cold start right? Usually run a dyno shortly after starting the car, so hopefully better numbers?

i thought it turned out the guy who lost power after the reflash just had a tech forget to reset his fuel pump computer or something. or was that something else? i'm confused. whats the answer!!?

No one thinks it is putting down less power? We got a forum full of optimists!!!

Saying "more" or "less" doesn't cut it guys. How much more or less is far more interesting. Come uuhhnn... Come uuuuhhhnnnn... (southpark reference)

I dunno much about how much one car differs from another of the same model on a dyno. I would think it would be withing 5 whp give or take.

ON the other hand.........it's probably lower cuz there feeling the pain of the m3's not movin?

Shiv,

You do know that it's 10PM on the east coast and some of us would like some answers before going to bed in 1 hour!

Or going out in 1 hour. Let me know if I'm gonna need a couple extra drinks to deal with the loss of 20 bhp
