KW V1 e92 Help needed (pics included)
I had brought my e92 in today to have my rear KW V1's lowered but when my installer got halfway through the installation he had said there were a few things we needed to correct before he could do the installation right.
First; the previously installer had left the stock standard support bearing in. Is this the reason why my car is so high in the rear? the adjustment is at it's lowest setting yet the car is still sitting pretty high in the rear? My new installer is going to remove these but he's not sure if there is a rubber grommet/gasket that goes in between the rear axle adjustment and the chassis? can anyone confirm if there is a rubber grommet piece that goes between the adjustment and the chassis? i had checked with KW and they dont list anything but i want to be sure i'm not missing a stock rubber grommet? My main goal here is to drop my car in the rear hopefully around an 1" more and get rid of this rear gap.. Will I get a significant drop by removing the stock support bearing? w/ the large wheel gap in the rear i just dont feel like the KW V1's were installed correctly the first time. Do you guys think the stock support bearing is the culprit and by removing it, i'll be able to drop the rear another 1"? any coil over info to help me get rid of this rear wheel gap would help!

I just had V1's installed by Long Tran. This is what I observed...
The stock piece in your first picture should be removed. It does have a rubber gasket that goes with it. That should be removed as well. The V1's will replace this entire setup, just like is shown in your second picture. There is no rubber that goes between anything with the V1's. For what its worth, Long had set mine at nearly maximum height and my wheel gap is completely gone. About a finger between the tire and fender and this is at almost the highest setting. |

the second installer did it right, there is no rubber piece or gasket paper that's suppose to go there. IDK but on my rears, my tires are tucked in the fender. I don't think i'm at the max drop either, i was still within the recommended range listed in the instruction manual. + stock support bearing is not suppose to be there
How much did you adjust your rears? I think i spun the purple till there was like 1/2 inch in between the purple and the black top. Try measuring the center of the hub to the top of fender, then you can see how much more you can drop; unless you left the adjuster as is in pic 2. In that case idk why theres a gap - other than tire size |

if you left the adjuster the way it was in pic 2, then the rear wheels should be tucked into the fender. I made the mistake of leaving them that way thinking it would give max height butt it tucked both in since it was at the max lowest.

I installed the FK Silverline X (comparable to the V1) myself with help from a friend and we left the stock rubber piece in there. We were debating whether that piece should be removed or not for some time and we decided to leave it in. Mine is at the lowest setting and yet the fender is only at the height of the rear wheels (no "tucking").
To be honest I believe that rubber piece (where the nipple of the adjuster can "stick in") raised the car up and will not allow you to have max. drop. But when we were gonna leave out the piece, the adjuster was not able be stably seated (the stock top mount is somewhat too big for the nipple of the adjuster). Anyways, I originally wanted to remove the rear wheel gap and I am happy with the drop right now. I am not planning to go back and remove the stock rubber piece, but I hope this info helps OP.

thank guys; i'm going back in tomorrow to have them adjusted. the last time the installer stopped the job and put my car back together as it was because he thought i was supposed to have some kind of gasket in between the rear adjustment and chassis. i confirmed with kw that the support bearing isnt supposed to be in there so hopefully removing that will fix the problem.
it still seems odd to have the adjustment rests directly on the chassis of the car but i'll just keep my fingers crossed it doesnt give me any problems.
