Curb rash repair in Vancouver
After 20 months I now have my first wheel with minor curb rash. It is about 2 centimeters long and not very deep but it still bothers me.
I called Brian Jessel and they said they have a truck that comes in to repair damaged wheels and the cost starts at $150 per wheel. They also said that it would take at least a full day and that they would give me a courtesy car while it was being fixed. Has anyone used the wheel repair service at Brian Jessel, if so were they happy with the results and cost? Is there anyone else that you would use in the Vancouver area? |

I called Panthers today. They said they don't do mobile work and wouldn't recommend anyone use them. He said that they don't have the right equipment in the back of their van to do a proper job.
I'm going to check them out, the guy sounded very professional and knowledgable over the phone.

I had my curb wheel repaired @ Brian Jessel BMW
they subcontract the work to ALLOY WHEEL REPAIR - which is a mobile service repair organization. they do work on Tuesday and Thursday on site (at BJ) they done a professional job and I am very happy with the result. Its costly I know but it has to be done if you want a perfect OEM look. please contact Alloy wheel repair if you don't want to tie into Brian Jessel

Alloy wheel repair
Hi all,
I hit a rock last night and it put a scratch in a rim and even took off some rubber. Brian Jessel is almost three weeks behind in bookings. Does anyone have the number for Alloy Wheel Repair in Vancouver. Waiting three weeks for an appointment is ridiculous. Brian Jessel is TOO busy and it's starting to show in their work. They always seem to miss something with me. I googled them but only came up with this posting and I was already on reading it. Talk about a feedback loop! I have a set of stock 19" 230 rims and I've always wondered how you guys with the really nice rims get by. Thanks, Kev |

I have some minor rash as well, about 8 cm's and I was thinking about getting it repaired. Only thing is the SA I spoke to at BJ talked me out if as he claimed the refinished wheel would "pit" over time as the refinish isn't nearly as durable os the OEM finish.
Anybody experience this themselves? |

We use the same guys (Alloy Wheels) at Brian Jessel Autohaus as well and they do a great job at restoring wheels. I personally also used Panthers, but I had to drop my rims off at their shop. Panthers also welded my R6 block for me.
I highly recommend either one for rim repair. |

I used Alloy Wheel Repair here in Ottawa and I must say their work is amazing (check their website for before/after shots, plus they guarantee their work for a year). I had a gouge and rash on one wheel, and $150 later it's perfect.

Thanks all,
I have two thoughts I'd like to run by you. Forst off I'm going to bring it into Brian Jessel as a good chunk of rubber was taken off the lip. Like 2 inches but it's still holding pressure. I hit a chunk of cinder block in the middle of the road late the other night. Just missed it with the front but obviously not the back. Does anyone know what color of touch-up paint would match BMW stock silver? I have a set of 19" 230. BMW doesn't carry on matched to their rim color. I went into an auto shop and was met with a million choices. You know something to touch it up before I get it in to fix it professionally. Pissed of this has happened again! Cheers, Kev in YVR |

Westernwheel craft does mobile repair as well for a lot of the dealerships (audi, mercedes). I've used him before and he did a good job. Keep in mind the mobile guys can only do cosmetic repairs. If your rims are bent or need welding they can't do it.
For bigger repairs, I go to panthers. |

Hi All,
I just put some curb rash on my new Beyern Rapps. I have sanded out curb rash before on a polished lip but I ended up having the whole rim painted a new color anyway so it didn't matter. The polish looked like crap when I did it though. It is minor but I would like to have it repaired. A new wheel is only about $150 in the US so I don't want to spend big money. Which service is good for my particular case in the Vancouver area? |
