I'm pretty sure that plan only comes with BMW Connected Drive which is only available in Europe. It would be cool if they had it in NA though.

It does work in Canada if you have iDrive, at least on my 09 model. Just call BMW Assist they should be able to help you. They will need to have your email address on file for it to work.

That being said, not every location sent makes it through to the car. It works about 80% of the time for me. I also don't think it works if your car is parked underground.

FYI... If you do send something and it does not make it to the car for whatever reason you just have to call up the folks at bmw assist. They have all the items you send on record and can re-push it to the car for you. Much easier than going back to your computer to re-send it yourself

You can send street addresses to your iDrive through 2 ways: Google Maps or BMW Concierge.

For Google Maps, you need to search the address you want. Then click send to car. You will need to enter the email address that you have given BMW Assist. This should work...if you just picked up the car, it does take a week or so for Google Maps to work in your car because they have to activate all the services for BMW Assist.

BMW Concierge- just select this in your BMW Assist menu and you'll speak to a BMW representative. Just tell them where you want to go and they'll beam it to your car.

All addresses regardless of which method you use will be stored in Messages. You can identify which one is which because each message will say either "Google Maps" or "Concierge".

Ok I picked my car up Mar 1. Been 2 weeks now and this hasnt worked yet. I remember when I picked up my car we used the SOS to setup BMW Assist. I will call them again and see whats going on.

Do you have the update services option in your assist menu? Try running that, it may update your services list.

I had a similar issue when I first got my car and did the assist activation. The tech on the phone had me run the update and the car picked up the necessary services.

Problem solved. Turns out I was registered but for some reason the system took the wrong email address. They changed it and now its working fine. This is very cool and so convenient.

Thanks for all the replies.

yea it works really well as you can have someone else send it while you are on the fly...for example you're just crusin and your buddies want you to meet em at a patio you've never been to before. dont even need to input into your GPS. just have em send it directly to your car and BAM
