Using Angel eyes for DRL - which is the brightest?
Hi all,
I need a 'bright' set of AEs for DRL use... but pictures aside, I'm unclear as to which is the brightest. I'm currently looking at the MTEC v2 bulbs from E92Lighting, or the MDS Lux 5.0 from NAM. I currently run on PIAAs, and although they are beautiful colour-wise, they aren't fit for DRL use since they're effectively invisible in average daylight. Can anybody weigh in with some opinions? And what's this DD Crystal that's rated at 1,800 lumens? Thanks, -pN

I once did a comparison of the PIAA vs. LUX e90 4.0, and there was no comparison at all, it was like night and day. With LUX e90 v5.1 just about to be released they will be slightly brighter then the v5.0, so that will your brightest option. the color rating on the LUX e90 v5.1 will be right around 6500k |

I know just about everything else is brighter than PIAAs (though I still maintain that if you don't need them for DRLs, they are pretty lights); so the Lux 5.1 will be slightly bluer than the 5.0? That's interesting. When's the release date for that?

I've seen the PIAA in person and they weren't as bright when compared to the MTEC E90 v2. The MTEC is much whiter and will be more visible during the day

No, I know that Never mind the PIAAs. I'm trying to figure out the other brightest "reasonably priced" possibilities - I know Lux is one, and I am suspecting MTEC is the other, but I'd like to hear some opinions - especially comparisons (I couldn't, for instance, find a Lux vs Mtec --- or a DD Crystal comparison - whether that is even available or not I don't know).

I see. What is this 5.1 business? I don't see anything about 5.1 on namotoring...

Soon as in next week, or soon as in by summer? I'm changing tires in a month or so, and I since I hate taking them off with all the wheel liners etc., I'd prefer to at least have an idea...

Well, well, we still don't have a date 'when', hehe. I wouldn't panic quite yet (well, *i* would 'cause I need a kit RIGHT NOW).
