Anyone deal with Thompson BMW recently?
I am looking at a crimson red, manual tranny, 2008 CPO'd e93 that has been with them for a couple of months. It's a one owner car (bought and traded it at Thompson) and from the myriad of pictures it looks to be in great shape though I have not seen it in person. it was orignially advertised for $48,989 and no it's down to $42,989.
It looks like they have a policy to get rid of cars if they don't sell in 60 days and this one is headed to the auction next week. If I can get a really good price I am thinking of snagging it but I live in upstate New York and before I go to too much trouble I am wondering what kind of dealership they are to deal with. I'm am toying with the idea of having it shipped but I am a bit nervous. Any info would be greatly appreciated. jim |

Thompson is a pretty good dealer, they are pretty well respected and have a good reputation. If you are in the Phila area and are looking at a BMW, go to West German or Devon Hill DO NOT, i repreat DO NOT go to Main Line, they are a bunch of pricks and will treat you nice until the sale, then they wont a shit about you. They screwed me over 2x and i vowed never to go there or refer anyone there Ever.

Unfortunately, I'm not in the Philly area -
I'm in upstate NY so this would be an "internet" sale. That's why I'm trying to find out as much info as possible.

they are a very reputable dealer, if you think the price is good, then I would really loook into it. I ve been there several time for service when I had my E46 M3 and when I had my celica, my buddy also takes his car there to service as well and they are always nice.

Thanks - I am debating whether I want to (m)
make the trip all the way down just to check the car out or not (big pain) so the info is appreciated.

Very reputable dealer. I know 1 person who recently finished up a lease with them (he got screwed over by Main Line once when he got towed there). He had great service throughout. I know someone else who has been getting 3ers from them for like 15 years.
I've been up there, good sales people and from posts Ive seen here and my friend sounds like their service department is run well also. I believe someone on here mentioned that they give a good deal on the stage 1 Dinan software, you should get them to flash it for you before they ship it up! |
