Hey everyone,

Nikki and I have been talking and we'd like to organize a meet in the Clearwater / St. Pete area for early December.

We're trying to make this meeting social so we can have some fun activities, food, and an ideal location to line up our cars for some nice pictures in an area other than a plain old parking lot

DATE: Saturday December 9th, 2006 - (12/9/06)
TIME: 12:00 PM (noon) to 7:00 PM +

AGENDA:

With the exception of the first meeting time, other times are guesstimates.
  1. Captain Bligh’s Landing Mini-Golf (Pirate Style!)
    • TIME: 12:00-1:30 PM
    • MAP
    • Phone: (727) 443-6348
    • Info: approx. $8/adult, $7/children (according to some website I found)

  2. Food: Guppy's on the Beach
  3. Memorial Causeway (Short Photo Opp.)
  4. Fort DeSoto Park (Main Photo Opp.)
    • TIME: 5:00-7:00 PM (we want to catch the sunset here, great pics opportunity!)
    • MAP
    • DRIVING DIRECTIONS (from Memorial Causeway)
    • Info: bring some change for the toll(s). There's 1-2 tolls to Ft. DeSoto.

    • --- End of Main Events ---

  5. Memorial Causeway - Take 2 (Night Photo Opp.)
    • --- Anything After This Will Be Impromptu ---

Details:
Captain Bligh's, Memorial Causeway, and Guppy's are less than 10 mins apart.

The longest drive we'll have is to Ft. Desoto (~50 mins), and our goal is to make it by 5 PM to give us time to chill, check out the cars, line them up for photos, talk mods etc.

After Ft. DeSoto the main events for this meet have been completed. Any extra ideas will be impromptu for whoever wants to be a part of it. One thing Nikki and I are interested in is to head back to the Memorial Causeway for night pics (the lights at night should look great).

... and who wouldn't want their car's picture taken by none other than our resident photo guru, Nikki "SuperShot?!" And don't worry, if your car's dirty she'll just have to PhotoShop it to perfection

Thanks to Nikki for suggesting the Pirate Mini-Golf location and Guppy's! Fort DeSoto was a mutual choice

I would love to come down, but the timing's not good for me. I plan on coming down for Xmas, and I'm in town now. That's about all the I-75 I can take for a while!

Sounds like a lotta fun, though. Can't wait to see the pics / hear about it.

Cool! I know you wanted to meet earlier when I got my car but I was extremely busy that month!

Pretty far. According to these Google Map directions it's roughly 284 mi (about 4 hours 56 mins) to the mini-golf location.

Maybe you can get an early start and make it BTW, your sig is nice!

Alligator Alley - you can go pretty fast through there, straight as an arrow and not as heavily policed. Most folks would probably do the FL Turnpike up and connect to I-75 no?

I would like to say ahead of time that there will be no illegal activities at this meet. That means no underage drinking (and probably no drinking really since we will be driving around a lot), no drugs, and no reckless driving. Let's keep this meet safe and fun for everyone.

The only permissible drinking will be root-beer

Anyone found in violation of these "rules" beware: I really am a ninja

its amazing to see a deputy drive a bimmer, im jsut steroetyping and no offense but usually they tend to love the camaro/mustang american hotrod cars, i used to know this cop that was like that, he laughed at my car saying "it only has 215hp" thats no match for a V8.....no offesne sir!
