Talking Turner Motorsports/ECS Vent Boost Gauge...

does anyone have experience with the TMS or ECS boost gauge?? Accurate? Easy to install? Look good?

I like the location of it, but I'm not sure about how the HVAC affects it...I would think that since it sits in the vent, the hot/cold air would affect the gauge itself and the internal components as far as thermal expansion and what not. Granted, i realize the changes are so small it could be negligible, but I was just curious...

for reference:
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...CT_ID=BOOST335

while you're here...any other suggestions for a boost gauge? i'm not a fan of the rixxster vent gauge - i don't like the location of it tucked away in the corner.

thanks all

Based on the price of the BMW specific gauges and placement I am leaning towards a digital boost gauge in a simple gauge pod mounted to the steering column. Oriented in such a way it does not block any of the cluster.

I've been searching and the only one i found that won't block the cluster is the BMS gauge, but i dont have a JB3 (yet).

I think the gauge is too new that not many people have bought it yet. I was looking at all the 335i gauge options and that one is by far my favorite for the boost gauge. The ATI pod is a close second but I figure eventually I might need to use those 2 gauge pods for other gauges.

I'll piggyback off this too. Does anyone know if you definitely need a boost gauge if you run either the JB3 or V4? I want to get a tune, but I don't know if I need a $300 gauge setup or not.

I dont tend to stare at my boost gauge. I really just have it there for when I am testing a new map and to occasionally make sure nothing is wrong with my car. I kinda thought that was what the point was? (not trying to be a dick)

i bought the omori gauge (the ecs gauge is a rebranded omori - i assume the turner one is as well) from wheeldude... was going to play with some mounting options - but now will buy the vent mount from ecs tuning....

haha..well it's one thing when you are turbocharging a n/a car, but people on here make it sound like when you run a JB3 or V4, the boost is safe and it doesn't need to be checked.

And usually my first mod to a turbo car is a boost gauge (my 300zx, s/c m3, and turbo m3) but for some reason I thought the 335i was better than that.

I got the Rixster P3 vent gauge over the TMS because it looks a lot better and has more features. I did consider the TMS though.

See I'm hesitant to get a digital gauge. I know it looks quite pretty but at the same time it's easier watching a needle overboost then noticing numbers go over your target psi.

Plus it's pretty low and to the left. I think it would have been cool if they used their first gauge bezel that tucks up by the A pillar. I know some consider A pillar gauges ricey, but they are the best location hands down. I know in our cars it's difficult because of the air bag location so

details/ pictures of the setup??

I'd like to put a boost gauge into the ashtray, but I love using it for putting change into.

i love the rixster, but i cant imagine it being easy to read on that side of the wheel...but then again, thats what the peak recall is for, right?

I have the ECS tunning one and let me tell you its pretty damn nice. It blends in perfect looks oem. The install was pretty straight foward, but it is a pain in the butt to take out the heat/ac controls, and the vent itself. The wiring was easy because one you get the radio and ac/heat controls its just running the wires to the cigarette lighter and the hose/senor from the engine.
