335Msport coupe Xdrive in snow with performance tires!!

Today I drove into work. I live in Northern NJ and we got 18inches of snow. The side roads were horrible and the main highways were manageable. The Xdrive with performance tires are amazing I drove by many trucks. One jeep spun out in front of me. Anyhow the point is that performance tires and all wheel drive are fine in any snow the traction control will be used more than if you had snow/all season tires but it was amazing in heavy snow. Xdrive is awesome.

I live in Bloomfield next to Montclair. I work in NYC. I drove thru town all the way to the parkway then to Rt3 to the city. I have always had Msport package cars but this is the first time with all wheel drive and Msport I am glad I tried it today and I was so happy that I got the all wheel drive. Now I feel confident to drive it in any snow conditions.

Not if there is another car in front of you. There is not a way in hell you can just turn the front wheels and climb over a 1'+ snow bank that is blocking you in. As for DTC off - 1. don't want to overheat the center diff. 2. In my experience with a rwd G35 and awd E92, both seem to have TCS lenient enough for getting out of deep snow without turning it off.

Nope, was trying to back into a plowed drive way, which you can't see, some distance behind me, but then gave up and drove out.

In the sense that it helps your gf avoid pushing ~3800lbs of the finest teutonic steel and aluminium out of knee-deep snow, I completely agree.

ive never heard of someone overheating the center diff because of that. And I have a lot of friends at BMW too and no one has ever replaced a transfercase because of such stuff

but if theres a car in front of you of course...makes no sense to slam into it
