Tint price help

I've been trying to find a good tint shop in my area and found a really nice shop that works on european cars

They charge $399 for Pinnacle ceramic tint

is that a decent price or too much?

for ceramic 350-400 is avg, unless you want regular tint which could range 100-200 or if you know a guy that knows another guy type thing.

Thanks!

I honestly dont care too much if its ceramic or not, i care more about the quality of work they do. I'll probably ask around a little more, and if nothing else i'll just go with them

On my 335 sedan I had to have felt installed....the tint kept scratching without it. Ask if the $399 includes felt on the front doors.

I think you will care about ceramic based upon it's ability to deflect heat. The price is good for what it is. Personally I would only go with 3M Christyline, it is one of the best and comes with lifetime warranty. It is pricy though.

As far as installers go. Ask them how they cut the tint. If they use the computerized cutting machine then that is a sign of a pretty good shop. Those that bring razor blades in the car to cut the tint can be problematic.

If you have nav, you don't want any sort of metallic tint. Apparently it will block the nav or something.

How does window tint block nav? I'll have to go back to my manual but I think the antenna is in the sharks fin.

Yep, says it right here. However, you can go metallic to stop the mother ship from knowing your thoughts

^It would block nav if you didn't get the nav option and are using a standalone garmin.

+1. All tint scratches on E9x models due to too much value engineering by BMW. You need felt, especially if you're paying for expensive ceramic tint.

I just got 3M and paid about $375 including the front windshield.

Should I call them back and ask about the felt?
