TInt Options
Hi All,
I wanted your opinion about the %, I have Black E92 with red interior. Since I am in Cali, I don't wanna get a ticket and get dark tints. What would you guys recommend and would you happen to have pictures as well. Thanks! |

Well you dont want to get tickets. I'm not sure whats legal in Cali but if you're not looking to get hassled I'd suggest 35% all around. If you want it just for looks and want the blacked out look, go darker.
If you're doing it to keep the car cool than I suggest going with ceramic tint and putting an extremely light tint on the front windshield (ex. 60%). |

35% all around is best option, nice shade too look clean yet not dark enough to make cops want to pull you over. i haven't gotten a ticket yet and i lived in both norcal and socal with the tints *knock on wood*. I think the legal limit is 70% from what I remember, but with 70% it's going to look like no tint is there anyways lol.

California Window Tint Law
California Tint Law Enacted: 1999 Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In California, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window. Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield. Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in. Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used. Rear Window Any darkness can be used. |
