Question M1 engine shared with other BMW platforms?

I am just speculating here, but I think the M1 engine could be a good candidate for a possible Z4 M?

No, I think the Z4 M will still get S65. And Z2 M will be built on the next platform of 1 Series F20, and it will also get the new FI 2.0l I4 engine. But maybe we shall find this engine in X1 M, if there will be any, it is build on the same platform.

I hope we get some more news about the Z2 roadster/coupe. A little 2-seater, 4 cylinder turbo would be a fun car.

I think and hope I am right, we should see the Z2 Concept, similar to X1 Concept, I mean body work ready but not the full car for production, in Paris September/October 2010.

Don't know about the Z4 M, but it's supposed to share the engine with the coming F3x M3.

Best regards,

I look forward to it. I wonder if the Z4 M would have a fixed roof variant.

Where did you hear that it was supposed to share the same engine with the new M3?

I think it more likely to use the S65 if anything. BMW released a race-spec Z4 GT with the S65 in it not long ago.

As long as it's RWD.

Absolutely, and I believe it would be. The only potential BMW's I've heard that may be FWD are the upcoming 0 series hatch and city car (Isetta).
