Pic Request: Comparison Sports/Standard Suspension 17"/18"
Hi all!
I'm new here, so I'll introduce myself first! I'm Fred, 23 yo. I live in Belgium, and I'm currently driving a VW Golf IV *blush* But I'm planning on getting a BMW E90 in the near future! However, I'm doubting my brains out ( ) about the wheels and suspension. Could you guys please post some pics here of 17" with the sports suspension, 17" without sports susp., 18" with sports susp and 18" without sports susp? It would be of great help! I've been browsing this forum, and have seen some amazing cars, but I just can't make up if they have sports susp. or not... Btw is there a big difference between the sports susp and the standard susp in means of wearing off the tires? Thanks a lot!! Fred Last edited by P****Fred; 08-21-2005 at 07:26 AM.. |

no, I didn't know the answer, I just want to know if there's a big visual difference in the sports susp or not.
Apparently the difference is not that big and the E90 on 17"s looks super anyhow! It's just, my mom has an e90 with 16"s on a standard susp and my opinion is that something's missing... :-) thanks for the answers! |

Suspension ride height
2 and 3 is standard I think (judging by the front guard gap), specially photo 3 look 'lifted' on set of 18's (not 19') it will look worst!, this mainly due to its higher static height (when the car is standing still, the side walls - or lack of it, props the car higher), plus the closer the rims looks to the body, hence high ligting the gap.
Had those 18"- AMG Style 4 on w203 with standard suspension, it was hmmmm horrible. This is what I think, 17" straight or staggard - standard suspesion ok - sport suspension is better of course. 18" staggerd a must for sport suspension - 15mm lower. 19" hmmmm, maybe track only weapon, 30mm or more coil over lowered. Good luck, loved the new e90, can't wait untill mind arrive, silver + 162s + sport sus. |
