What do you guys think? Debadge or Gloss Black badges?

I was washing my car the other day and I thought....hmmm these chrome 335 badges gotta go.

I like the "clean" look of a debadge....but I've never really done it on any of my cars. My car is Jet black with gloss black grilles so gloss badges could look good as well.

Decisions, decisions.....

I would either leave the OEM badges on, or remove them completely. I'm not a fan of non-OEM badges. All down to personal taste really!

I like the black ones. I had mine painted to match my car on my e90, I think it looks good. I hate chrome with a passion.

I debadged but thought it looked odd after a while. So I switched to the gloss black. Mine is jet black and the black badges look nice.

I don't really see how it's going to be "non-OEM" as I would likely just paint them myself. Even if I were to buy them pre-painted....it's just a couple of plastic numbers, not a big deal. (Plus I would keep my old badges) If you meant you're not a fan of the "non-OEM" look, I get what you're saying. However my car's stopped looking "OEM" a long time ago...

Yeah, your car and mine are pretty much cosmetically the same.....I just don't know. You didn't like the debadge look huh?

Btw, finally pulled the trigger on those painted tails. I left the reverse strips white for contrast...turned out amazing.

I'll get some pics up when I get a chance.

Nice, you're up in Tampa my man? Got any hookups? I can do it myself pretty easily, but if I can get them matched to my car for a decent price that's another option.

Otherwise, I'm just going to mask it off and shoot them with gloss black.

I'm thinking gloss badges at this point, but who knows....I'm always changing my mind.

Looks good, did you buy them or paint them yourself?

I guess Bimmian's selling them for $20, not bad....

I like the black badge look if you have the theme on the rest of the car. MDL335i is a perfect example of this look.

I debadged today.

Reason one was looks, since my other Bmw is debadged and I like it.
Secondly it was because I like the "sleeper" looks of the 335, debadging it I'm hoping to get less red-light race invitations as well.
Seems like the "335 i" provokes everyone with more than 120 hp, they want to race everywhere. Hoping to get less race invitations this way since I'm guessing a lot of people can't tell a debadged 335 from a 320.

Hence, I'd go for a debadge.

Yeah as I said, my car is blacked out in high gloss pretty much all around. (Jet black, BMW Perf gloss black grilles, 15% tint, shadowline trim, etc.... Still have my stock 230's and orange side reflectors though

I'm really thinking the gloss badges will look the best.

I see what you're saying, but I don't really care to be a "sleeper". people in civics, scions, G's, etc....don't really mess with me anyway, they know better. Debadged or not, people are going to see the roundel and dual exhausts and be retards about it regardless.

If had matte black trim/ grilles then yeah. As I said my car is pretty much entirely gloss black (09 shadowline trim/mirrors, gloss grilles, etc....having matte black badges wouldn't really make sense as I don't have anything "matte" on my car.

I think I've got it now guys, so thanks for the input. I'm going to just order the $20 ones from Bimmian. I have to debadge anyway before I add them so if I decide I like the debadged look I guess I'll have some extra badges lying around...it's $20 so either way it's all good.

I have been blacking out almost everything, even the white on the tail lights, the only chrome I have left is my exhaust tips.

I got the gloss ones from Jlevi, I got gloss since it matches the rest of the trim on my car, also its easier then painting.

Hey,
Just realized you responded on here. I work 12 hour nights, so Im usually on here at night when everyone is asleep. If you need tint, clear bra, or a detail, I can help you out, but other than that, I really dont have anyone else here in Tampa. I have had Chino do a couple installs for me, but Im not sure if he is Orlando now.

I got my paint match red emblem from JBSPEED a while ago. The paint matches perfectly and I think it looks great.
