Question BMW Roundel

The roundel on my hood is on tight, but the one on my trunk can easily be removed with your fingers. You think it's the grommets? Thanks

Sorry - that's what I get for being on a conference call and reading your question.

If it's loose, it's certainly possible the grommet is cracked. How old is the car? See lots of sun and heat?

Only way to tell really is to pop the roundel off and see how the grommets look. If the grommet is fine, no big loss as it's reusable.

No problem at all, and thanks for the reply. The grommet seems fine, so I'm not too sure. It's an 07, but I think the original ones have been replaced. These look way too new. Thanks again.

I think it's on tight enough to not fall off while driving. Besides, if someone tried to steal it, I rather it come off easy than have them pry it off.

I think there is a DIY on roundels published by Bavarian Auto on their web site. They sell roundels and I believe also have reasonable advice on how to handle various mounting and re-attaching problems.
